«Сага о ведьмаке» (польск. Saga o wiedźminie) — цикл книг польского писателя Анджея Сапковского в жанре фэнтези. Главным героем серии является Геральт из Ривии, ведьмак — наёмник, выполняющий заказы, связанные с уничтожением бестий, представляющих угрозу для жизни людей. В детстве он, как и другие ведьмаки, подвергался мутациям, из-за которых приобрел сверхчеловеческие боевые качества: повышенную силу, молниеносные рефлексы, ускоренный метаболизм, иммунитет к ядам. Основная работа Геральта — за деньги уничтожать опасных чудовищ. Однако он не всегда готов бездумно выполнять заказы своих нанимателей. К примеру, он отказывается уничтожать разумных существ, или драконов, которые находятся под угрозой вымирания.
В соответствии с собственным кодексом поведения, он старается не участвовать в политических интригах королей и чародеев, однако в итоге оказывается вовлечен в сложный узел противостояния северных королевств и могущественной южной империи Нильфгаард.

"The Witchcraft Saga (Saga o wiedźminie) is a fantasy book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The protagonist of the series is Heralt of Rivia, a witch doctor and mercenary, who fulfills his commissions to exterminate beasts which pose a threat to human life. As a boy, like other witches, he underwent mutations that caused him to acquire superhuman fighting qualities: increased strength, lightning reflexes, accelerated metabolism, and immunity to poisons. Geralt's main job is to destroy dangerous monsters for money. However, he is not always willing to mindlessly carry out the orders of his employers. For example, he refuses to destroy intelligent creatures, or dragons that are in danger of extinction.
In accordance with his own code of conduct, he tries not to participate in the political intrigues of kings and wizards, but ends up involved in a complex knot of confrontation between the northern kingdoms and the powerful southern empire of Nilfgaard.
