44:29You may be working for someone else today and be the powerful boss that you are tomorrow. The possibilities are endless, and today’s guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast is a walking example. I know you’re a busy person filled with dreams and ambitions. While you do today’s tasks, plug in your earphones and listen to The Ripple Effect Podcast! It’s your host, Steve Harper, with our special guest, real estate extraordinaire Randi Zucker. ____________________________________________ Randi Zucker’s early career experience revolved around internet marketing, e-commerce, and web design/development. Like most, she worked nine-to-five for companies and high-profile individuals. That was until she started thinking of long-term ways to cement her family’s promising future. Together with her husband Adam, a licensed Florida Realtor, they’ve started flipping real estate properties and expanding their portfolio. “Flipping” in Randi’s Dictionary means buying properties that need improvement, renovating, and selling them. Over the years, they’ve successfully flipped over a hundred homes and eventually owned three hotels — Palm Cove Motel in Clearwater, Isla Palma Singer Island in Palm Beach Shore, and Three Pines Lodge in North Carolina. Having extensive experience in the real estate game, the power couple Randi and Adam offer coaching services to real estate investors who want to get into the business. They coach through the 10-Minute Mogul approach — investing 10 minutes of your time a day to grow your wealth and real estate empire. Randi emphasized the significant role of relationship-building in her success — from initially reaching out to agents and investors to connecting with their market and knowing what hotel visitors need. Rippling is essential for an entrepreneur’s survival! Additionally, Randi explains her challenges as everyone’s go-to problem solver and leader. Dip your toes into the world of real estate and start planting the seeds of legacy wealth. Let’s discuss all things real estate and relationship building! ____________________________________________ We briefly discussed The 10-Minute Mogul, but you can learn more by visiting www. 10minutemogul.com . 42:28“Are you going off a script? You probably should.” Man, that stung! I heard this feedback from a friend eight episodes into The Ripple Effect Podcast, and my soul was obliterated. Self-doubt ate me up every time I hit record. I started overthinking every word before it came out of my mouth. As someone who just started threading the podcasting world, my infinitesimal confidence became nonexistent. It wasn’t the most pleasant feeling. If I let those words live rent-free in my head, I wouldn’t be here talking (still no script, by the way) and pouring my heart out. Before I knew it, eight episodes became TEN SEASONS! It’s a far cry from those grand success stories, but relistening to the first few releases of The Ripple Effect Podcast made me realize there has been significant improvement. It may feel like you’ve achieved nothing today or tomorrow, but look back to this day a few years later, and you’ll see something to be proud of. I started upping my game. I ditched Garage Band, my crappy equipment, and began investing in better gear. The amount of behind-the-scenes effort to ensure Ripplers get the most value out of each post is no joke, and of course, it comes with a cost. 50:01Life challenges us in different ways. While some seem to sail smoothly through life in a breeze, others are met by one tumultuous storm after another. Hang tight because today’s special guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast will take us on an emotional cruise through life and all its sides — the good and the ugly. After listening to her story, our special guest will restore your faith in humanity. So, who’s our awe-inspiring guest? Pam Rankel shares a deeply personal and inspiring story of overcoming tragedy, loss, and the journey to healing. Having faced unimaginable hardships, she recounts the pivotal moments of her life that turned pain into strength, transforming a story of sorrow into one of resilience. Pam Rankel has experienced things that no one in this world deserves to. She survived s**ual abuse from a doctor in an unsupervised appointment and physical abuse from a person who’s supposed to love and protect her — her husband. After freeing herself from this abusive relationship, she tried to dip her toe into the dating pool. Instead of finding the love she deserves, she experiences the anxiety-inducing feeling of being pursued by a dangerous stalker. Pam also has to endure the grief that comes with losing a son in labor and another son, Micheal, in an accident. “I’ve always wished I could have saved my own children, but I couldn’t. Maybe, though, I could save someone else’s,” Pam said. Pam Rankel saved a young man’s life by donating her healthy kidney. The donee, Cole Derry, is the same age as her surviving son, Ryan. Pam’s inspiring story was featured on several media platforms, such as the Vancouver Sun and Global News, and is in the talks for a film adaptation. After all Pam has been through, she found her way back to joy, compassion, humor, and gratitude. She is now on a quest to help others with similar experiences overcome abuse, grief, addiction, and trauma through “A Course in Miracles” life coaching. Pam is a real-life superhero, and I’m so thankful to have met her. She has inspired me in so many ways, and I strongly believe that the world deserves to hear her story. 1:08:02Today, we are lucky to have Ben Orlando on the podcast! Ben Orlando is a Therapist, a Podcaster, an Educator, a Writer, and an incredible human being. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh. Using podcasts as the medium to express his creativity, Ben Orlando started a podcast called “History Repeating Itself.” In it, he and his co-host, Michelle, uncover the connections between the past and the present, making predictions based on historical patterns and cultural trends. However, he rediscovered his buried passion for baseball when he started reading fiction novels about it over the summer. Ben traveled back to the good old days of collecting baseball cards and hanging baseball posters on the walls. This led him to create another podcast called “Midnight Library of Baseball.” As a sport-thusiast, I have been binge-listening and enjoying the calm, chill vibe of his show. Whether you play baseball, are an avid fan, or have a curious itch about this sport, this is the perfect podcast for you! In this The Ripple Effect Podcast episode, Ben and I took the plunge into the world of baseball by discussing “Field of Dreams,” a 1989 movie based on the novel Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella. The story follows Ray, an Iowa farmer who builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield after hearing a voice say, “If you build it, he will come.” This leads to the emergence of legendary baseball players' ghosts to play the game. As Ben and I went deep into the “Field of Dreams” rabbit hole, we conversed about family, relationships, and the importance of connecting with your own feelings. This is something you shouldn't miss! Explore Ben Orlando’s work: Midnight Library of Baseball: https://www.midnightlibraryofbaseball.com/ History Repeating Itself: https://www.historyrepeatingitself.com/ This episode is a result of the power of Rippling with a podcast guest I eventually struck a good friendship with — Brian Benson. When you doubt whatever you do and put it out there for the world to know, those doubts are self-fulfilling prophecies. Do you know why? Because there is truth in advertising. What you sell to yourself and the world, that's what they'll buy and believe. Some people call it "manifestation," and others call it the "Law of Attraction," but it all boils down to the idea that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life. I agree with that. Not everything is set in stone, but it influences how you act and how others perceive you. This topic is inspired by someone I know from a while back and reconnected with recently. Who would've thought that a conversation over caramel macchiato would change someone's life? This episode is brimming with true-to-life stories that demonstrate the power of your thoughts and words. Watch out for these stories! I won't go into too much detail here. Relax, grab a cup of coffee, and listen to the full episode. 1:02:44When there are too many tabs or applications opened, a computer tends to hang. Just like computers, your brain experiences the same thing. Cognitive overload or info paralysis happens when you take in too much information than your brain can handle. In today’s media circus, your brain works double-time to separate what’s important from unimportant, the facts from fiction. Fake news runs rampant in social media, especially now that the elections are dwindling. It would help to be extra vigilant about the information you see and believe in. You need to be aware of suspicious accounts spreading misinformation and trolling. You should seek facts from reliable sources only. We are all in luck because today, we have Chuck Salter, the President and CEO at The News Literacy Project as our special guest for The Ripple Effect Podcast! The News Literacy Project or NLP is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 that aims to teach media literacy to the next generation, so they can go out into the world as well-informed, critical thinkers. The NLP not only helps students but also educators. With years of experience working in the education sector and fighting for a future founded on facts, Chuck Salter touched on various important topics about disinformation and news literacy. Growing up in a family with a military background, his parents instilled the sense of being of service to people. Chuck took those values as he grew up and made it his life’s mission to combat the spread of fake and biased information. A special thanks to Lorenza Muñoz for this Ripple! I really enjoyed this interview and conversation. I’m talking to an EXPERT here! I’m looking forward to more positive Ripples in the future.
