Helping restaurant & bar owners, bar managers, and bartenders get consistent profitable results. So why would you listen to me? My name is Jerry McGill. I've been in the restaurant and bar industries since 1982. Just saying that makes me feel old. I guess it would be better to say I've had a lot of experience since starting in this industry. I've been a bouncer, a bartender, a bar manager, a bar owner, even a bodyguard, and -- for the last 27 years -- a beverage entrepreneur. My whole idea for doing this podcast came out of a conversation I was having with a friend and they were asking me questions about different things that I would recommend for them to do to increase the sales and profits of their bar in their restaurant. Once I answered a handful of questions, this friend asked me if I would just do it for him. I immediately said no, not trying to be rude but firm. I was just trying to be a good steward of my time. But I did tell him I would walk them through step-by-step how to make their bar more profitable and put out better quality products. My philosophy is to do it in small pieces ... just one step at a time. After that conversation, I thought "I've been doing this for about 30 years and I’ve got a head full of this stuff and I use it from time-to-time to help clients and in my own business. But I thought to myself why not just put it all down on paper and write a book. That thought lasted about two seconds and then I thought well maybe a podcast. I can just record it all and talk about all the things that I can think of that would help restaurant and bar owners and operators and entertain them a little bit because I do have some really cool stories. So that’s what we're doing. (By the way, I am going to work on the book, but I'm anxious to start this podcast right away!) In the podcast, we'll discuss everything from engineering your beverage menu, promotions and the many resources I have found over the years. We'll cover topics like how to make visually pleasing cocktails; how to price cocktails, beer, and wine; manage inventory ... and the list goes on and on. We'll also talk about my personal experiences in restaurants and bars -- the good, the bad and the ugly -- that I've seen and experienced on a weekly basis. We'll do product reviews about distilled spirits, restaurant equipment, cocktail mixes, bartenders, equipment, beers systems, margarita machines, and last but not least -- we will do a cocktail recipe of the week. At Liquid Assets, we know that you want to be in control of your bar. In order to do that you need a profitable beverage program. The problem is the marketplace can be competitive and demanding which makes you feel stressed and distracted. We believe you deserve a customized strategy that gets consistent profitable results. We understand what it's like to be on your side of the bar where we’ve helped bar and restaurant owners for more than 20 years. So here's how we can help you do that in 3 steps. 1. Schedule a call 2. Go to www.liquid–assets.com and download the 5P’s of a Profitable Bar. 3. Download the Liquid Assets Cocktail Recipe Book also on www.liquid–assets.com We can help you stop pouring profits down the drain and watching your customers go across the street. You deserve to cash in on your hard work!
