Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqK Check out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilD The college football recruiting calendar is always accelerating, meaning things that are happening in June are news in February. Today, on the BWI Live Recruiting Show, we're discussing Penn State's official visit schedule for the upcoming summer. But don't worry, we're also breaking down today's events. Join experts Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder as they sift and update fans on the running back coaching search situation and how it relates to recruiting, the latest RPM picks, and more. We're live at 10 a.m. today and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this offseason. Subscribe to the BWI YouTube Channel so you don't miss any of our live shows, posted content, and more! Penn State running back coach search Of course, the biggest news this week is that Penn State needs to find a new running backs coach after long-time assistant JaJuan Seider left the program for Notre Dame. We'll give you the latest information about the coaching search and what fans need to know right now. Snyder also spoke with 2026 running back commit Messiah Mickens to gauge his temperature about sticking with the program after Seider's departure. Will the team be able to hold on to one of the top running backs in the country for the next cycle? We'll discuss that, plus a realistic timeline for the hiring process. Wafle conversations Owen and Luke Wafle have become central to the team's team-building efforts over the last several months. Owen, the older Waffle, transferred from Michigan to Penn State this offseason to fill in the team's defensive tackle opening this upcoming season. Luke, a four-star defensive end in the Class of 2026, is a top priority for defensive line coach Deion Barnes this year. Snyder spoke to their father and gives listeners the highlights of his conversation on today's show. Snyder also put in an RPM prediction for the next 2026 defensive player to join the class. Find out which target he thinks is on the path to becoming a Penn State commit. Official Visit Schedule update February is a dead period in recruiting, and schools are now setting official visit schedules for the summer with top prospects. There's been a flurry of announcements since our last recruiting show, so Fitz and Snyder will discuss the players who have locked in for all-important visits during May and June. We'll also discuss the importance of those announcements and what they signify, even if the dates or plans change in the future. Want to ask about something we're not talking about? Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqK Check out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilD Penn State wrestling is set for its final double dual weekend of the regular season. What is not clear as of Wednesday, however, is whether or not the Nittany Lions will have all 10 of their starters available for matches at Ohio State on Friday and Illinois on Sunday. The Blue-White Illustrated wrestling show is back to discuss last weekend's two wins, the latest on the Lions' injury situation, and what's on the horizon for head coach Cael Sanderson's team. Reporter Greg Pickel and host Thomas Frank Carr start this week's episode with a look back at last weekend. Penn State shutout Michigan 39-0 on Friday. Then, it beat Maryland 35-10 on Sunday. What did we learn from the two victories? The duo discusses that as the Lions took their 67th and 68th consecutive dual meets. From there, the conversation moves on to the injury front. Braeden Davis, the starter at 133 pounds, missed another two matches and has now sat out the team's last three due to injury. Tyler Kasak, meanwhile, had to injury default out of Sunday's bout with Terrapin Ethen Miller. It's not yet clear if either will be available this weekend. The show closes with a look ahead to a Friday night match with No. 5 Ohio State before traveling to No. 19 Illinois. The top bout in Columbus will feature No. 1 Jesse Mendez vs. No. 3 Beau Bartlett at 141 pounds. Mendez beat the Penn State senior in both last year's national final and also at this season's NWCA All-Star Classic. What can fans expect from Penn State this weekend? The show closes with thoughts on that. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3…

They officially introduced the 2024 freshman class for the first time during a two-hour interview session with the young players. Reporter Greg Pickel was at the event and joins the show today to discuss what he heard and learned from yesterday. We'll also be discussing the latest in the Penn State running backs coach search and more. Join the BWI Live Show at 10 a.m. on YouTube, catch the replay on the channel, here on the site, or anywhere you get your podcasts. The latest on the Penn State running backs coach search Yesterday, Franklin discussed the timeline and criteria for the team's running backs coach search during his roughly 40-minute talking to the media. While we'll get into those details later in the show, we'll start with the latest names that are part of the search. Pickel will discuss what he knows about who is in the candidate pool. He'll also discuss what the freshmen running backs had to say about the situation during their interviews with the media yesterday afternoon. Between the Lines Next, we'll discuss the coaching search from Franklin's perspective. He discussed what he's looking for in his next leader of the running back room. He once again stressed that the team doesn't have time to wait and needs a coach who can immediately make an impact. However, he brought up some other topics within that answer that may or may not have to do with the current coaching search. We'll discuss those thoughts, plus potential changes to spring football during Between the Lines. Freshman Media Day Finally, we'll discuss the young players we talked to and the main takeaways from those conversations. From Cooper Cousins to Ethan Grunkemyer, we met with the entire freshman class, and we'll discuss what we learned about the personalities on display yesterday. We'll also discuss the information about player development and goals for the coming year. Want to ask a question about your favorite player we met yesterday? Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqK Check out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilD The Penn State Football team became victim of the College Football Playoff coaching shuffle early on Sunday when running back's coach JaJuan Seider reportedly accepted an offer to coach at Notre Dame. The Lions had just poached their own coach from CFP Champion Ohio State two weeks earlier so the dynamic of late-offseason coaching changes isn't new to the program at this point. Now, the team will need to replace one of the longest-tenured assistants under head coach James Franklin. We'll discuss that, Penn State superstar Saquon Barkley winning a Super Bowl, and more on today's BWI Live Show. Join us at 10 a.m. on YouTube or catch the replay on the channel, site, or wherever you get your podcasts. Don't forget to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel so you don't miss any off-season press conferences or breaking news! Saquon Barkley wins his first Super Bowl We'll start off with Barkley's win in Super Bowl LIX. The former Penn State running back carried the ball 25 times for just 57 yards, but his team dominated the Kansas City Chiefs on the way to a 40-22 blowout victory that featured 16 Chiefs points in the fourth quarter once the game was put away. We'll discuss Barkley's historic season, plus talk about the game. Join us to get in on the conversation! Penn State needs to replace a top assistant Of course, the main focus of today's show is on the team's loss of Seider to recruiting rival Notre Dame. Seider has been one of the team's top assistants over the last seven years and has brought a steady flow of high-quality running back prospects to the program in recent years. What's the sting factor in losing him? What can the team do to replace him quickly, and does this represent an opportunity to change and refresh the room? We'll also discuss the recruiting aspect of that conversation in Fitz's recruiting update. From there, we'll discuss Sean Fitz's recruiting big board, which you can check out at Blue White Illustrated by signing up for a membership to the site. We'll also review the summer official visit schedule, which is filling up in early February. Penn State freshmen meet the media Tomorrow marks the start of the 2025 season for Penn State football with the February media day. Franklin will speak to the media for the first time since his team's loss to Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl to discuss a variety of topics, including hiring defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, the loss of Seider, and more. We'll also get our first chance to meet the Class of 2024 freshmen, which completed its first year on campus. We'll discuss what we expect from tomorrow and who we intend to talk with during the day of interviews. Want to discuss something else? However, there's plenty of news coming up in the next few days for top recruits who are cutting their lists of schools after Junior Day visits. Will Penn State make the list for it's top targets? Join the BWI Live Show to discuss that, plus the NIL details that On3 discovered this offseason about who spent the most for recruits and portal targets last season. As always, the best way to be on time to every live show is to subscribe and enable notifications so you get alerts when we go live or when news breaks. Penn State Recruiting January Recap With a deep playoff run taking up the first half of the month, Penn State missed out on some of the recruiting calendar to start the new year. While any team would trade the opportunity at a national championship for a weekend or two hosting prospects, it limits the time and players the team could meet. So, with all that considered, how did Penn State do in January? Recruiting experts Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder discuss the team's progress in the past month and recap the major events that happened over the previous few weeks. NIL Conversation from Pete Nakos On3 national reporter Pete Nakos surveyed anonymous NIL executives and staffers from several of the major conferences to get a lay of the land for how much teams spent this past season on recruits and in the portal. He also got an idea of what the going rate for certain positions is and where those numbers are heading. Of course, we'll relate these topics and conversations to Penn State football and where it stands in the new NIL environment. Can the team keep up with the rising rates of players? Given the situation last year, how much more impressive is the team's run to a final four? We'll discuss those ideas and put the situation into context for fans. Top targets cutting list of schools, 2025 review Finally, we'll discuss the upcoming announcements from top targets this month. Players like Alex Haskell and Davion Brown are narrowing their list of potential schools. Did Penn State make the cut? We'll discuss the future of the team while taking one last look back at the Class of 2025, with the traditional national signing day happening yesterday. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3…

Penn State wrestling is off and running with the February portion of its schedule. The Nittany Lions have their first double dual weekend of the season on the horizon. Michigan battles head coach Cael Sanderson's team at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday (6 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network) before Maryland invades Rec Hall at 1 p.m. ET on B1G+. “It’s unusual, as we talked about throughout the year, just the scheduling where we got Friday, Friday, Friday, and now we have a Friday, Sunday,” Sanderson said Monday. “But I think these weekends are really good training for the national tournament conference where you have a multiple-day tournament. So, we look at it all as training. And obviously, Michigan’s one of the top programs in the country. So we’re looking forward to that match, another match in the Jordan Center, and then being able to kind of turn around and wrestle Maryland, who’s wrestling really well. I mean, they’ve done a really good job there, and they’ve been very competitive.” We cover those matches and much more on this week's Blue-White Illustrated Penn State wrestling show. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start the conversation with the latest news from the recruiting world. The nation's top Class of 2026 recruit, Bo Bassett, picked Iowa over the Nittany Lions and others on Tuesday night.…

Analyst Robb Smith took a job elsewhere earlier this week. Reporter Greg Pickel will recap where he's moving on and what it means for the program on the administrative and coaching side. We'll also discuss how Knowles and his arrival could change the coaching staff. Between The Lines Next, we'll get to the main portion of today's show. We're replaying the most important quotes from Tuesday's press conference and explaining what they mean for the Penn State defense moving forward. We'll give you insight into how Knowles and Franklin plan to integrate the new coach into the program and what compromises there might be from what he did elsewhere to what he will do at Penn State. Of course, Penn State fans are smart and want to know the immediate return on the highest-paid coordinator in college football history now. Penn State introduces Jim Knowles this week Penn State will host its introductory press conference for Jim Knowles on Tuesday, which is why our show has been moved to Monday morning. We'll continue our extended discussion on Knowles and what he brings to Penn State on today's show. So far, we've been asking you questions about what you want to know about his defense, but today, we're asking the experts what they're curious to learn. Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer will discuss the questions they're eager to hear answered in Knowles's first impression with the media. The main thrust of the conversation around the hire is that Penn State fans are worried that this change will set the defense back in a very important year for the program. The team retained most of its senior talent, who could have moved on to the NFL Draft this spring. Will they be up to speed in the defensive system to capitalize on this momentum toward a championship run? Fitz's recruiting update With January in the books, it was a truncated recruiting month for the football program, which took it's 2024 season deep into the playoffs. Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqK Check out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilD A new episode of the Penn State wrestling show from Blue-White Illustrated is now live. The No. 1 Nittany Lions are set to take on No. 2 Iowa night on Friday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. That, unsurprisingly, headlines much of this week's episode. First, though, host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start the show by recapping the Rutgers match. The Nittany Lions won nine of 10 bouts in a 35-3 win over the Scarlet Knights. It marked their 65th consecutive dual meet victory. From there, the conversation turns to the fifth-ever top-two meeting between the Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions. Iowa won the first two as the No. 1 ranked team in the country. Penn State won the second two with the same ranking. Who will win on Friday night? On today's show, we'll review the final numbers on the transfer portal for the Nittany Lions. The team officially announced the additions earlier this month, and all but one of its existing players have chosen a new home. Join the BWI Live Show to discuss what the roster looks like on the other side of those moves. Reporter Greg Pickel joins the show to take you through the team's strongest and weakest positions as we reset the Penn State roster for 2025. We'll also dive deeper into the team's transition to defense under new coordinator Jim Knowles and what changes he could bring to the team for the coming season. Penn State roster reset Of course, the main story for all Penn State fans is about new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. The program released a clip of Knowles addressing the team on social media yesterday, and Pickel will discuss the news surrounding it. From there, we'll transition to the other additions and subtractions from the roster this offseason. Former Penn State safety Tyrece Mills announced his new college destination this week. With that, only one former player in the portal has yet to find a home for the upcoming season. Next, we'll review the announcement from the program last week about the team's newest members. Penn State announced new weights for the incoming transfers, some of which raised eyebrows about the jumps in size from their previously listed size measurements. We'll discuss what that could mean for the team's needs this fall. Strengths and weaknesses While there's still time for players to arrive and leave in the spring portal window - and you can never count out a lawsuit against the NCAA - we're considering the roster set for the upcoming semester. Which positions look the strongest on paper? We'll review where the team can build its identity during spring football. Next, we'll look at the positions that need to be developed and take a step toward Penn State finding balance and a well-rounded attack next season. Jim Knowles's defensive breakdown Finally, we'll use the final show segment to discuss what we've learned at Blue White Illustrated about Knowles's defense and what changes he might bring to the program. After studying his defense at Ohio State, listening to virtual clinics, and reading into the data, we've got an early sketch of some differences in how the new head man on defense operates. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Penn State Roster Reset: Looking at Positional Strengths for 2025…

Head coach James Franklin sent shockwaves through the sport this week by hiring defensive coordinator Jim Knowles away from the Ohio State Buckeyes just days after Knowles won a championship with his former team. That story will dominate our conversation, much like the rest of college football on today's BWI Live Show. However, that won't be the only thing we discuss because there's always something brewing with the Lions. Join us for an hour of Penn State football talk that includes a recruiting update, a breakdown of the latest commit with the program, and your questions on the BWI Mailbag. Penn State is just days away from the unofficial start of the 2025 season in February. Join us by subscribing to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel so you don't miss any updates from winter conditioning, the freshman introduction that happens next month, and more! Penn State's march towards another college football playoff run starts now! What Knowles means to the larger picture around Penn State Most Penn State fans know the details surrounding Knowles' move from Columbus to Happy Valley by this point. So today, we'll discuss the larger impact of Franklin's move to make Knowles the highest-paid coordinator in college football. We'll discuss the team's efforts to join the elites in the sport and why Knowles' impact goes beyond what he can do on the field as a coordiantor. However, that last part is also important, so we'll discuss what changes you might see to the Penn State defensive personality and the team's approach to different aspects of the game. Fitz's recruiting Update Penn State also got a new commitment this weekend amid the flurry of activity off the field. New Jersey cornerback Julian Peterson committed to the program on Saturday evening in an under-the-radar signing by the Nittany Lions to get the defensive secondary on the board in the Class of 2026. Recruiting expert Sean Fitz discusses the impact of his signing, the response to Penn State's first junior day, and more! There's also good news surrounding one of the team's top commits for the upcoming cycle. BWI Mailbag We'll be discussing your feedback and thoughts throughout the show but we'll end our Tuesday BWI Live Show with a segment dedicated to you! Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqK Check out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilD We're in the "Way Too Early" portion of the 2025 season when media pundits are clamoring to be the first to a take for the upcoming year. One of the early storylines for Penn State football is that they're a top team contending for the National Championship and quarterback Drew Allar is again in the conversation for a Heisman. But how realistic is any of that? Today on the BWI Live Show, we discuss the factors that would lead Penn State to another deep playoff run and a chance at a Championship in 2025. Join the show at 10 a.m. to get your thoughts on those subjects, plus join the BWI Mailbag portion, back from its postseason hiatus. As always, the best way to know when we go live and post breaking news, or other great content is to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel and enable notifications. Allar for Heisman? The early odds for the Heisman winner in 2025 are out, and Drew Allar has the fourth-best odds of any player in college football. Is that realistic? We discuss what it takes to win the award and how the Penn State offense can help or hold Allar back. The Nittany Lions need Allar to take the next step and become the best version of himself next year, but does that correlate to postseason awards? We'll discuss the tactical ways that can happen and what the most realistic outcome is as we sit in January. Next, we'll discuss the biggest questions for the Penn State offense and defense, which was part of Greg Pickel's "Four Thoughts" from yesterday. Does Penn State have enough NFL talent to win a championship? We'll continue our theme of Penn State's path to a National Championship by discussing a tweet from Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy. In a social media post on Tuesday, Nagy claimed that it takes NFL talent to win a championship in college football. He posted the last six winners of the CFP and the number of NFL Draft picks they had in that year's draft. Where does Penn State stand with potential draft talent for 2026? We'll look at that and examine this article from yesterday about how many players the Lions may realistically send to the NFL after next season. BWI Mailbag Finally, we'll discuss your questions and thoughts in the BWI Mailbag! We opened the weekly thread Wednesday morning and are featuring the best questions from the BWI message board to end the show. However, we'll answer your questions live on the show!
