Chesterton in her article which is featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of the Christian Research Journal. In the article, she quotes Chesterton who said, “The riddles of God are more satisfying than the solutions of man.” And that is the essence of the matter. Scripture is a heavenly condescension. To explain the profundity and purposes of God to humanity is “like trying to explain Einstein to a little-neck clam.” This is precisely why we must approach the task of interpreting Scripture with a great deal of humility.
