This is a 5 minute Quick Take episode that highlights a great piece of advice shared by Scott Randall (Oakley) in Episode 18 of Dream Job Ready.

(If you haven't listened to Scott's interview, go check it out!).

Scott has worked with Oakley for over 16 years and is currently the brand's Director of Global Category Strategy for Oakley Sunglasses. He's also worked with Nike in the past, so his interview in Episode 18 has a lot of great insights and tips about getting dream jobs for big, famous, sports retail brands.

For this Quick Take, I share Scott’s answer to the Listener Question of the Week, which was submitted by listener, Simon, who works in the retail industry.

Simon’s question to Scott was “What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from each of the big brands you’ve worked for…?

There's gold in his answer, as Scott talks about the value of organisational culture in the workplace, feeling fulfilled when working with like-minded people, accepting challenges, navigating and embracing change, and being comfortable with being uncomfortable.

He also reveals why situational awareness is a pillar of success and why accountability is key.
