140. LivBay Lash Shakes Up The Industry Again...They Are Producing Lashes Here In the U.S.A

The Covid lockdowns taught us a lot of lessons in 2020. Don't depend on the government to rescue your business, don't depend on manufacturers overseas for your products, and most importantly, always listen to LashCast before you go to bed at night with your nightcap (okay...maybe the 3rd lesson is more me just trying to brainwash you). That said, getting products from lash companies in 2020 was difficult at times...in fact, it's still difficult to get premade fans in 2021. Mike and Shauna of LivBay Lash, who are always thinking outside the box, had dreams of buying a manufacturing plant overseas...sounds fun! Unfortunately, after they did some research and they came to the conclusion that this idea would not float. "So if we can't own our own lash manufacturing plant overseas...how can we achieve our lash dreams of world domination?" they thought (Okay...I just made that up...but you'll get to hear what they really thought on our episode). Once they realized making a manufacturing plant overseas wouldn't work they started to think about producing lashes here in the States. While the idea at first seemed crazy, as they looked into it and met with engineering firms, the idea seemed quite plausible. In today's episode, Mike and Shauna come on our show again to share about their journey to bring lash manufacturing here to the states. As expected it hasn't been a cakewalk. They expect to be producing lashes out of their location sometime this summer, and we can't wait to give their lashes a try. As an added bonus we also discuss some of the pain points of salon ownership towards the second half of the episode.
