Episode 12 - this week we headed down to Brixton market in London to interview Tom Barton, one of the co-founders of the Honest Burgers restaurant chain. Honest Burgers have an incredible array of gluten free choices on their menu and are very popular with coeliac and other gluten free customers because of this. We chatted to Tom about how Honest Burgers got started, why they began offering gluten free food a decade ago, gluten free flour vs gluten flour, the importance of catering safely for allergy sufferers and being inclusive, finding the right gluten free buns for their burgers, processes used to limit the risk of cross contamination and potential plans for international expansion.

Before the interview, Laura and Sarah talk about Sarah’s top secret project, gluten free Halloween, Wetherspoons, Pizza Express, barley malt vinegar and the gluten-y foods we really miss (and where you can get the best gluten free alternatives).
