Many of us lead wild and reckless lives with no direction when we were running the streets drinking and using. Sure, we had lots of fun times, but the truth was, as our disease progressed, we often got further and further from the life we really wanted.
Then the day came when we were finally hit with a big dose of humility and our self-indulgent adventures finally came to an end.
Thankfully, addiction recovery provides us with every tool we need to successfully navigate the ups and downs of life without having to drink, use, or cause harm to ourselves or anyone else. It also gives us the strength to walk through anything put before us, be true to ourselves, forge our own unique path and build the life we always wanted to have.
