Also, they encourage you to always see the person in front of you for who they are, and to keep away from lazy stereotyping, which can easily form barriers. It's hard to demonise someone whom you’ve taken a step towards, whom you’ve gotten to know, and now see as a more complete person whom you are more connected to.
