It is unquestionable that Vedic culture & tradition has had a remarkable impact on the West.
The ancient philosophy of Yoga Vedanta has profoundly affected the worldview of millions of people all around the world.
It started in the late 18th century in the USA & some major European countries, and in the 1960s it reached an absolute cultural explosion, following the Beatles trip to India for an extended stay with their new guru, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. After that, in the past few decades, the rise of technology and social media took care of making these teachings accessible to almost anyone in the world.
The impact has been enormous, enlarging our current understanding of the mind and body and dramatically changing how we view ourselves and our place in the cosmos.
On this episode of the Vital Veda Podcast I had the pleasure of sitting down for a chat with Phillip Goldberg, the world-renowned author of American Veda, a book that chronicles the impact of India's spiritual teachings on the West, and was named one of the top 10 Religion books of the year by Huffington Post and Library Journal.
