This week’s podcast hosted by Sean Price of Velez Managed Services is with Steve Studley.

Steve Studley born in Devon, he grew up on the family pig farm, he then joined the Navy at 16, being one of the youngest to pass the AIB (Royal Navy Officer test). He actually met his wife while working for the French Military while she was taking a sabbatical from CNN. Steve left the Navy after 10 years and travelled the world for two years working as a civilian contractor in the land mine and battlefield sector, specialising in bomb disposal officer clearing land mines. Steve left the UK to head to the states, to be with his finance now wife, he then started his journey in the business world as a salesman selling photo copiers for offices. With a lucky break a friend of the family got Steve an interview with Trident (established computer service company), in the sales department, working his way up for 12 years, to the point where the ex-CEO offered to sell the company to him.

Today we dive into many topics venturing from; the transition from a British Naval Officer uniform to becoming a CEO of a company and how he brought those valuable leadership lessons from the Navy to the conference room. Doing business all around the world, being one of the fundamental parts in computer service supporting the gaming industry. Tips on what to look for and how to spot and seize opportunities for growth.

We discuss; computer service industry, gaming, casinos, salesmanship, the home and office life and everything in between.
