Writer, speaker, fitness coach and educator Chrissy King joins the podcast this week. We get into her beautiful grit story about the loss of both her marriage and father, moving to New York City, and how that led her to where she is now. She shares a very personal story about her father’s passing and what she learned from that difficult situation. We are honored to have Chrissy reveal more about her parents, growing up and celebrate her father’s memory. Chrissy strives to create a more diverse and inclusive wellness industry and has created “The Body Liberation Project”. She started as a freelance writer and wrote a viral article during the pandemic which catapulted her career. We get the brave and inspiring story of how her book came to life and the true meaning behind body liberation. We also discuss and learn how diet culture and racism are woven together in white supremacy. In the episode, Chrissy shares how pivotal and often difficult therapy has been, the stigma’s surrounding it, as well as her experience with reiki. We also touch on her human design traits as a pure generator and right-angle flow of consciousness 4, which by no surprise was in complete alignment. I am thrilled for you to listen to her knowledge and liberating story on The Beautiful Grit. In this episode we discussed: • The grit of grief, divorce and moving to a new city • Relationships, separation and peacefully transitioning into new chapters • Taking the time to figure out who you really are and what you want in life • Social media and duality of life • Therapy, reiki and the stigmas around self-care • Dealing with grief, tragedy and terminal illness • Her book, The Body Liberation Project, and the story behind it • Racism, body image, diet culture and collective freedom • Human design and how it shows up in Chrissy’s life If you would like to hear more from Chrissy you can read her book, “The Body Liberation Project”, anywhere books are sold, follow her on social media @iamchrissyking and go to her website at www.chrissyking.com to subscribe to her newsletter.
