This week on The Bardcast episode 22, ( the C side) we begin with a delightful Raymond Carver poem sent in by a Naval chaplain, that has us musing on the things we choose to gaze upon with love.

We then move to consider the gifts on offer from Dionysius as compared with Christ in the Eucharist and then muse on the freedom from sexual exploitation that was eventually gained when Christianity came to Pagan Rome.

Finally we learn from St Teresa of Avila of the intoxicating glories of the wine cellar of the King, and also from Christopher West’s beautiful new book ‘Eating the Sunrise’ we hear his marvellous story of the insights of a Hindu lady when she first hears with great astonishment about the Eucharist.

THE BARDCAST airs live and can be listened to on www.RadioMariaEngland.uk or digital radio in London, Bristol, South Birmingham and Cambridge at 3:15pm after the Divine Mercy Chaplet on Sundays and 8pm on Fridays. Each week Sarah de Nordwall reflects on poems that have been sent in, shares a poem of her own, leaves us with a theme and a writing prompt and sends us off to write something ourselves.
