Manage episode 438433125 series 2923058
*womp womp* You walked out of that meeting feeling about 3" tall. Before you slide into depression or get angry, think about how you were an accomplice to your own misery. Today I'm talking about how I learned not to get triggered by imagined or real bad actors. Listen in to hear how I stopped being an accomplice to other people and shifted to being an advocate for my own success.
- Become better at listening and understanding others by being present, reading the room, having empathy and meeting others where they are.
- Verify that your understanding of someone's communication is correct and not distorted by the bias of your own assumptions.

- You are an accomplice when you meet adversity with more adversity and multiply what you don't want.
- You are an accomplice when your insecurities or limiting beliefs cause you to accept the premise of someone's criticism and define your worth.
- You are an accomplice when your personal standards are low and make you available for poor treatment.
- Positivity leads to possibilities. Be an advocate for yourself instead of an accomplice in feeling bad.
