Neural MT has been the leading AI translation solution for several years; however, with the promise and progress of LLMs, led notably by ChatGPT, what's the right technology for translation and localization processes? Are LLMs too immature, or is translation a potential area to develop your corporate LLM strategy? Unbabel CTO and Co-Founder João Graça will discuss Unbabel's investment in translation LLMs, the state of the technology, and the potential application in translation.
About João: João Graça is a co-founder, Chief Technology Officer, and computational force behind Unbabel. Portuguese-born João studied computer science at doctorate level at Lisbon’s leading technical university, Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa, followed by research in natural language processing (NLP) and a s postdoc in NLP at the University of Pennsylvania. João held various research scientist roles before co-founding Unbabel in 2013.
