Things to know about bipolar anger, fighting depression & and trying to sustain a healthy relationship

Fighting my moods, trying to be present and mindful each day, living in the moment as much as possible.

Self-care was lacking when I moved into a new place.

A weeks’ long depression is so much better than one that lasts months, but it still has challenges to overcome.

Our recovery paths are not linear. There are still obstacles to overcome. Recognize warning signs and take responsibility for words and actions. Believe in yourself, things do get better.

Take meds as prescribed, be honest with your doc, avoid at all costs things you know are harmful to your mood and life.

Meds are not the only answer to bipolar episodes. But the right meds and right doses are critical to good mental health.

A manic episode 2 years ago that changed my life: I am now vigilant about my mental health and practice self-care every day.

Bipolar disorder and addiction have long been a part of my life. But in my continuing recovery, I am more agile, stronger and more resilient than I have ever been. Like a Phoenix, I rise again and survive, and prepare for the battles ahead.
