Artificial intelligence is evolving at an unprecedented pace—what does that mean for the future of technology, venture capital, business, and even our understanding of ourselves? Award-winning journalist and writer Anil Ananthaswamy joins us for our latest episode to discuss his latest book Why Machines Learn: The Elegant Math Behind Modern AI . Anil helps us explore the journey and many breakthroughs that have propelled machine learning from simple perceptrons to the sophisticated algorithms shaping today’s AI revolution, powering GPT and other models. The discussion aims to demystify some of the underlying mathematical concepts that power modern machine learning, to help everyone grasp this technology impacting our lives–even if your last math class was in high school. Anil walks us through the power of scaling laws, the shift from training to inference optimization, and the debate among AI’s pioneers about the road to AGI—should we be concerned, or are we still missing key pieces of the puzzle? The conversation also delves into AI’s philosophical implications—could understanding how machines learn help us better understand ourselves? Welcome back to our podcast! Today, we have some updates and challenges to discuss regarding Ezekiel's journey to Fiji. As you may recall, Ezekiel recently left for Fiji for a week of meaningful work. The rest of us, Sis Marshall, Adrianna, Andrew, and Paul, gathered at the airport to support him and manage his visa paperwork for his return. Welcome to today's podcast! This morning, we said “see you later” to Ezekiel as he left on a journey to Fiji for a week of meaningful work. Meanwhile, the rest of us, Sis Marshall, Adrianna, Andrew, and Paul, gathered at the airport to support him. Now moving on to manage his visa paperwork for his return. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and stories ahead! In the coming months, we will face a series of challenges as we navigate the visa process for Ezekiel. Currently, he is on a visitor's visa, which means we will need to renew it every 60-90 days until we can obtain permanent visa status for him next year in August. Fortunately, Sister Marshall, Adrianna, and I are covered under our 3-year visas, providing some stability. However, this means we will need to ensure Ezekiel's visa is always up to date and explore alternative visa options for him as soon as possible. Some struggles we face having an adult child in the missionary field are, 1. Emotional challenges: Being in a foreign mission field with adult children can be emotionally challenging, as it may involve being separated from loved ones. 2. Limited support network: Living in a foreign mission field may mean having a limited support network compared to what one might have in their home country. This can make it harder to navigate challenges and seek assistance when needed. 3. Balancing responsibilities: Juggling the responsibilities of being a missionary and a parent to adult children can be challenging. It may involve managing their own ministry work while also supporting and guiding their adult children through their own lives and challenges. 4. Limited access to resources: Being in a foreign mission field may mean having limited access to resources that are readily available in their home country. This can include healthcare, education, and other services that may be important for both the missionary and their adult children. This process requires careful planning and coordination to avoid any disruptions in Ezekiel's ability to stay and work in Fiji. We understand that it may be a complex and time-consuming endeavor, but we are committed to seeing it through. By staying organized, staying informed about visa requirements and deadlines, and seeking assistance from immigration professionals if necessary, we hope to successfully navigate this process and secure Ezekiel's long-term visa status. That's all for today's podcast. Stay tuned for more updates and stories as we continue this journey together. Be sure to follow missionary_rd etlm_2004 and adrianna_marshall_2006 on instagram. The Apostolic National Conference in Papua New Guinea (PNG) was nothing short of extraordinary. As attendees gathered from far and wide, they experienced a spiritual awakening like never before. The event was a testament to the power of faith and the unwavering devotion of those present. With twenty individuals receiving the Holy Ghost and eight being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the conference marked a profound turning point in the lives of many. The experience of being filled with the Holy Ghost is often described as an overwhelming surge of divine presence and guidance. It's a moment when believers feel an intimate connection with God, and this conference witnessed twenty souls embarking on this sacred journey. The manifestation of speaking in tongues and the interpretation of tongues further exemplified the spiritual depth of the conference. Healings, too, played a pivotal role in the conference. Miraculous recoveries and the alleviation of ailments were witnessed firsthand. These acts of divine intervention served as a powerful reminder of the healing power of faith and the boundless compassion of a loving God. Brother Marshall, who shared this remarkable account, emphasized the significance of this spiritual revival. Such gatherings serve as catalysts for individual transformation and collective growth. They are a reminder that faith transcends geographical boundaries and cultural differences, uniting people in their shared belief. As the podcast continued, Brother Marshall addressed a crucial matter—a request and a call to action for supporters. In the realm of faith-based conferences, there is often a need for financial support to continue organizing such events. These gatherings require venues, accommodations, and various resources to ensure they run smoothly. Brother Marshall's call to action was an invitation to those who were moved by the conference's impact to contribute in any way they could, be it through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word. This call to action was not just about financial support; it was an invitation to be a part of a movement, to play a role in facilitating these transformative experiences for others. It was a reminder that the conference wasn't a one-time event but part of an ongoing journey of faith and spiritual growth. In conclusion, the Apostolic National Conference in PNG was a testament to the enduring power of faith and the profound experiences it can bring. It was a gathering that witnessed the Holy Ghost filling hearts, baptisms in the name of Jesus Christ, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, and miraculous healings. Brother Marshall's message served as a reminder that such events rely on the support and involvement of the community of believers. It was a call to action, an invitation to participate in the continuation of this remarkable journey of faith. In the end, it was a celebration of the boundless love and grace of a benevolent God.…

Talking about our week, year, and great things in PNG! We have baptized around 410 people in PNG in the past almost 9 months! God is moving! Here is the reading from Pioneer Missionary Nona Freeman penned 36 tips for reducing stress: 1. Pray 2. Go to bed on time. 3. Get up in time so you can start your day relaxed and rested. 4. Say no to time consuming projects that compromises mental health. 5. Delegate tasks to capable others. 6. Simplify and unclutter your life. 7. Less is more. Although one is often not enough, two can often be too many. 8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places. 9. Pace yourself. Spread big changes and difficult projects and don't lump the hard things together. 10. Take one day at a time. 11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you to do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it and move on. You are human. 12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases. 13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc. 14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble. 15. Do something for the child in you everyday. 16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting. 17. Get enough exercise. 18. Eat right. 19. Get organized so everything has its place. 20. Listen to a cd or tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life. 21. Write thoughts and inspirations down. 22. Every day, find time to be alone even if just for several minutes. 23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray. 24. Make friends with Godly people. 25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand. 26.Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you, Jesus!" 27. Laugh. 28. Laugh some more! 29. Take your work seriously, but yourself not at all. 30. Develop a forgiving attitude because most people are doing the best they can. 31. Be kind to unkind people; they probably need it the most. 32. Sit on your ego. 33. Talk less; listen more. 34. Slow down. 35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe. 36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.…
We have had some great things happen in PNG this week, but we have also had some uphill battles to fight! Good thing our God owns not only the cattle’s on the hill, but the hill itself so we can have strength to climb!
We have had a very productive week. Board meetings, conference scheduling, traveling, and preparing for great things ahead!
