×Craig is away on assignment this week (read: vacation), so our fearless film critic Tim fills in as guest announcer. We are talking Star Trek this week with author and screenwriter David Mack. And Tim and Kevin discuss Skinamarink... the horror... the horror.

1:03:54It's the first episode of 2023! Craig and I discuss the women in my life, then Beth Lapides talks about her new audiobook. Our film critic Tim dives into the controversy of "The Whale," and I discuss one of many reasons to dislike Adam Sandler.
1 It's a very special Get Off My Lawn Christmas episode featuring screenwriter David Steinberg 59:20

59:20Deck them halls, trim those boughs of holly, and join us for our very special Christmas episode. There will be caroling, story-telling by the fire, a visit from St. Nicholas himself, and interpretive dance (luckily, this is not a video podcast, or the dancing would scar you for life). Joining us to talk about writing and lawyering is David H. Steinberg. Then Tim reviews the Avatar sequel, or he tries to but Kevin keeps interrupting. There may or may not be an Easter egg after the credits, though considering the season, maybe it should be called a Christmas egg?…

36:26Broadcasting legend Mark Thompson discusses moving "The Mark Thompson" show from terrestrial radio to online live-streaming. We also discuss the pitfalls and challenges of working in "new media." Also, Announcer Craig and I desperately 9almost pathetically) try to get Volvo to sponsor the podcast.
We've got Mark Thompson from the Mark & Brian radio show to talk about his new book and the state of broadcast radio. Hooty hoo! Even if you didn't listen to M&B, Mark has had a unique radio career, and it was an amazing opportunity to chat with him. But wait... there's more! Act now, and you can also listen to our film critic Tim discuss the latest Will Smith movie and the Knives Out sequel... that's two reviews for the price of none! And there may or may not be a few Easter Eggs for M&B fans along the way. Be good humans!…
We talk to two writers on this installment of the podcast. First up, Mike Reiss who has written for stage and screen (and books and leaflets and frankly every other form of media) talks about life in the writer room for The Simpsons, Johnny Carson, Garry Shandling, Ice Age, ALF, and my personal favorite The Critic. Then Herbie J. Pilato returns to discuss his latest book about the Christmas season. Plus we have Tim discussing RRR... spoiler alert: NOT a Christmas movie.…
The Rev. Rob Lee joins us to discuss civil rights, online activism, and Star Trek. Tim joins us to discuss Christmas movies, and we try to figure out an adjective to describe him.

1:08:29We catch up with our genial host and our intrepid announcer, we explain where we've been and what we've been up to, we chat with Kevin O'Connor, longtime house of "This Old House," and we find out our resident film critic Tim's Top 5 of '22... and there may or may not be a post-credit Easter Egg.
Edward James Olmos narrates a story of the birth and life of Jesus, accompanied by a massive choir and orchestra
There's a place on Earth that some describe as the happiest place. For legal reasons, we won't name the specific happy place, but I have fond (even happy) memories of it. At such a place, around this time of year, a beautifully produced Christmas musical production is undertaken, complete with a story of the birth of Jesus. No mention of Santa, and no mention of a certain cartoon rodent often seen in the aforementioned happy place. On this particular year, all-around good guy Dick Van Dyke served as the narrator. Enjoy, and merry Christmas.…
Welcome to October. We dig deep for a two-decade old conversation about two "mostly dead" people, aka folks who had near-death experiences. The Philosodorks talk about the philosophy of patriotism, the WSMG guys trash talk each other, and Tim reviews The Battle of the Sexes.

1:16:52This week features a conversation about what goes on behind the microphone with Brian Whitman, whose voice is known to fans of Tim Conway Jr and Rick Dees, and who can currently be heard every morning on AM870's "Morning Answer." We also ponder economic philosophy with Philosodorks Rich and Jessie, live and direct from Rich's hospital bed. And film critic Tim tells us whether Tim Curry has been ousted as Pennywise the Clown.…

1:40:39We celebrate some unsigned artists, including Venus Leone, Hichchair Kings, and Calling All Astronauts. We discuss fine art, game shows, Aubrey Plaza, and our resident philosopher gets drunk and sings. As always, no puns intended & pants are optional.
Cancelled guests, dead batteries, audio glitches, and other perils shall not prevent this week's podcast. We talk about Mr. Rogers, we mock Millennials, and we review the latest Samuel L Jackson film. Thanks for MelodySheep for permission to include the song heard at the top of the show.

1:10:02This week we talk classic TV with Herbie J Pilato, who literally wrote the book on Bewitched, Gidget, Kung Fu, and others. The Straight Meets Gay triad debates the merits of morning people vs. night owls, the Philosodork duo tackles the intersection of faith and philosophy, and the Tim monopoly gazes up at the Dark Tower.…
