Sometimes we think there is a trophy for bending over backwards for others. People pleasing can cripple us. In this episode, I’ll share 3 ways to know if you have this problem.
Consistency means not giving up. It means doing your best when you can. Here are some additional tips to expand on the idea that consistency means not giving up and doing your best when you can: 1. **Set Realistic Expectations**: Consistency doesn't mean perfection. Life happens, and some days won't be as productive as others. Focus on progress, not perfection. It's about showing up regularly, even if it's not at full capacity every single time. 2. **Create a Flexible Routine**: Design a routine that allows for adjustments. For instance, if you typically write for two hours a day but can only manage 30 minutes one day, allow that to count toward your progress. The key is to keep the momentum going. 3. **Celebrate Small Wins**: Acknowledge and celebrate even the smallest achievements. This can help sustain motivation over time, especially when the results aren't immediately visible. 4. **Track Your Progress**: By tracking your efforts, whether through a journal, app, or planner, you can visually see how far you've come. This can serve as a motivator on days when giving up feels tempting. 5. **Focus on Your 'Why'**: Remind yourself why you're doing what you're doing. Consistency becomes easier when you’re connected to the deeper reason behind your efforts, be it personal growth, achieving a goal, or making an impact. 6. **Embrace Imperfection**: Understand that not every attempt will be your best. Sometimes, just showing up and doing the work is a victory in itself. Over time, these small efforts compound into significant progress. 7. **Build Accountability**: Share your goals or progress with someone who can support and encourage you. Having accountability can push you to stay consistent even when you don't feel like it. 8. **Learn to Rest, Not Quit**: Taking a break when necessary is crucial for maintaining long-term consistency. Rest when needed, but make sure it’s a temporary pause, not a reason to give up. The essence of consistency is showing up, adjusting when needed, and continuously pushing forward, even when progress feels slow. Would you like to dive deeper into any of these points?…
