PART 1: In this episode I am interviewing my dear friend Kara Brooks. Kara was raised in church but was pulled into the practice of shamanism. This is the New Age practice of directing or shifting energies or spirits. After a long journey away from the Lord, He was faithful to bring Kara back into a committed, love relationship with Him. Now she is leading and encouraging others in Jesus name. The two of us are going to be discussing how new ageism has snuck into the church one little piece at a time. This conversation will be well worth your time!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
I’ve already said that Self-helpism is a slippery slope for Christians. Sometimes we need help bringing order and good basic discipline to our lives, but if we begin to take advice from the secular perspective, we can move into self-sufficiency that is nothing short of prideful sin. The second law of Atomic Habits is in fact very interesting, and has many good points to recognize. Join me to take in a few points on what we should take and what we should run from. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…

Have you ever faced a difficult season and decided that surely God was not in this just because it was hard?! What if God has allowed something because his plan is greater than what you can see?! The greater question is, do you know Him to be enough to satisfy you?! Have you hit a brick wall in your life, and can’t figure out why God has brought you there? It’s possible that you, like me, have moved over into a place where you have become self-sufficient, and God in his mercy has allowed that brick wall so that you will search for him. Christian women love the thought of having a “word of the year“, but sometimes we can let this word become our job and not the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Lord began speaking to my heart a few months ago about what he would have me do, and from there he gave me more than just one word, and I cannot wait to see what he does with this in the year to come. Join in to be encouraged and challenged as you hear what the Lord is laying on your heart! Here are the Songs mentioned in the podcast… “Blessed Assurance” by Cece Winans https://youtu.be/uMLOlYWM03g “Behold Our God” by Sovereign Grace https://youtu.be/Gqrli3Lkf58 “Be Enthroned” by Jeremy Riddle https://youtu.be/xA4zOAtPeJ0 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
“Dear faithful God, this fear lingers in my flesh, telling me I will never be good enough to serve you. I have to confess I believe my fears and failures have sent me outside of your purpose…” If you’ve never felt that way, that you are not good enough to be used by God, then please teach me! Praise God though that he gave us the story of two simple girls, Elizabeth and Mary, that would teach us how to work through our insecurities to serve Him in incomprehensible ways. Join in on Episode 12 — the final episode of the Finding the Goodness of God series — and know the true meaning of Luke 1:45, “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill what he has spoken to her”. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Episode 11 has been the most fun for me so far!!! There’s one particular character in Job that I absolutely love…Elihu. This guy showed up after all the other friends who were just running their mouth‘s about their confused theology. He tells Job that God is good no matter what happens. His plans are higher and better than ours, and that it is an essential part of his goodness to allow trial, trauma, and tragedy to break us and build us according to his pure and holy nature. Even more than that though, God shows up next, and brings life to Job by bringing his attention to the Sovereign perfection that he has lost sight of. Now, when we read Romans eight through the lens of Job 38, and also through the lens of they crucified and risen Savior, we see a God that is so good… The God outside of space and time, who stores hail and gave the seas their boundaries… The God who knew from the very beginning that we needed more than laws and sacrifices, but a savior and a counselor. We see a God who is completely trustworthy and who is all together lovely. Join in and listen, I know you will be blessed because of the power of God‘s word!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
One of the most beautiful things about the Bible is that you can always find a story or scenario where God uses a life to help you understand more about Him…When it is about Him, we learn how to navigate through, with Him as our guide and our glorious goal. Overall we have been finding the Goodness of God through Romans 8, but we are going to take a little detour into the book of Job. Join in on Episode 10 of Finding the Goodness of God, and listen as we learn together how to trust the sovereignty of God no matter what is surrounding us. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Friends, I totally intended on pre-recording this week, knowing that I would be recovering from surgery, but my body just did not have enough oxygen to do so; however, I am doing better… I have taken a deep breath both physically and spiritually. So, this week only has one episode, but it’s very much based on taking that breath that I’m talking about. I hope you are thoroughly blessed and fully oxygenated when you’re done listening! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Welcome back to the Finding the Goodness of God series. I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving Week!!! Today — DAY 5 — we are in Romans 2:4-11. This passage helps us have the recognition of the consistent and just nature of His goodness. We see that He is the definition of fair, yet we have a tendency to despise the riches of His perfection. Join in and listen! Let’s be blessed by His Word together!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Isn’t it interesting to think that the thought of heaven should be enough to bring us back to good, but since it is somehow not the case for our minds and bodies that are driven by selfish desire, God has been good enough to provide example and opportunity here on this earth. Romans 8 tells us of a groaning in all creation…what does that even mean? Does creation ache for relief just like I do?! Join in this episode to get a more clear view of what Paul was saying in the passage, and how it applies to you! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Are you looking for a deeper, more full relationship with Jesus and treasures in heaven that you cannot imagine, but you just can’t seem to get past a season of anxiety or depression, complaining and dissatisfaction, or even possibly lust or laziness? Is it possible that the God of all creation placed a groaning in your spirit for more of him, but the evil of this world has led your heart in the opposite direction. Join in on this episode… you may not have realized all along that your condition or circumstance is simply a misguided groaning. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
Did you know that Romans 8 is a detailed focus on the Holy Spirit as one of the benefits of salvation in Jesus Christ? Think about that! We have help from the Spirit of the Triune God in order to make our hearts and lives submissive to him, one groan at a time. Join in on this episode — Day 8 — in a spirit of worship. It’s time to be set free in the goodness of God!!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rachel-menard/message…
There are a lot of things to be grateful for, but I must say it is Jesus in my mama that I am most grateful for today. Join in for a quick story on how my mama was able to welcome my filthy self to her table. Her words and her actions were a direct reflection of God’s goodness through creation and so much more!
