×Send us a text Sermon Title: “He Arose!” Text: Matthew 28:1–10 | Luke 24:1–7 | 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 Theme: Jesus died, was buried, and rose again—just like He said. His resurrection is the foundation of our faith, the fuel for our hope, and the proof of His power. 🔥 Introduction: Three simple words—“He Arose”—carry the weight of heaven, the shock of earth, and the hope of humanity. Jesus did what no one else in history could do: He laid down His life, took it back up again, and defeated death itself! Let’s walk through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—not just as historical facts, but as divine acts of love and power. 🩸 I. The Pain of His Death – A Sacrifice for Sin 📖 “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures…” – 1 Corinthians 15:3 ➤ A. It Was a Willing Death Jesus said in John 10:18: “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.” He didn’t die a victim—He died a victor. ➤ B. It Was a Substitutionary Death He took our place on the cross. Isaiah 53:5 – “He was wounded for our transgressions…” ➤ C. It Was a Painful Death Beaten, mocked, pierced. Physical pain, emotional shame, and spiritual separation. Illustration: Imagine a judge stepping down from the bench to serve the sentence for a guilty man. That’s what Jesus did—justice and mercy met at the cros 🪦 II. The Silence of His Burial – A Pause, Not the End 📖 “They took the body of Jesus, and wrapped it in linen cloths…” – John 19:40 ➤ A. He Was Truly Dead Roman soldiers confirmed His death—He didn’t faint, He died. The stone wasn’t to keep Him in; it was to seal the moment. ➤ B. It Seemed Like Hope Was Lost The disciples scattered. The sky had turned black, and the curtain in the temple had torn. ➤ C. But God Was Still Working While His body lay in the grave, His spirit declared victory over hell and the grave (1 Peter 3:18–19). Illustration: A seed buried underground doesn’t mean it’s gone—it’s just waiting to break through. Jesus wasn’t defeated—He was getting ready to rise III. The Power of His Resurrection – A Savior Who Lives Forever 📖 “He is not here; He is risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28: ➤ A. He Arose on the Third Day Fulfilling prophecy (Psalm 16:10; Hosea 6:2). Just like Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days, so was Jesus in the tomb. ➤ B. He Arose with Power Power over death, hell, and the grave. Romans 6:9 – “Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more.” ➤ C. He Arose to Be Seen He appeared to Mary, the disciples, over 500 people (1 Cor. 15:6). He didn’t just rise privately—He showed up publicly. Illustration: A man once bought an old building that had “Condemned” painted on it. When people passed by, they thought it was still abandoned. But inside, he had rebuilt it completely. The resurrection was God’s way of showing that what was once broken had been restored! Support the show…
Send us a text Exodus 3:10 – “Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.” Just as God raised up Moses to free the Israelites, He raised up Harriet Tubman to free slaves. Harriet Tubman, known as “Moses,” risked her life to lead hundreds to freedom through the Underground Railroad. God used her faith, courage, and obedience to break the chains of oppression. Encouragement for Today: God raises up deliverers in every generation. He uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary freedom. Slavery was evil, but God touched the hearts of both Black and White abolitionists to fight for freedom. Frederick Douglass – A former slave who became an influential abolitionist, speaking boldly against slavery. Sojourner Truth – A freed slave who became a powerful voice for justice and women’s rights. William Wilberforce (White) – A British Christian leader who led the movement to end the transatlantic slave trade. John Brown (White) – A radical abolitionist who fought for the end of slavery with his life. Quakers (White) – A group of Christians who actively opposed slavery and helped free many through the Underground Railroad. Support the show…

Send us a text Main Points: 1. Jesus Satisfies Our Deepest Hunger Scripture: John 6:26-27 – Jesus calls out those seeking Him for physical bread rather than eternal life. Key Insight: The world offers temporary satisfaction—money, fame, relationships—but none can fill the void in our souls. Illustration: Imagine trying to quench thirst with saltwater. Earthly things may seem to satisfy but leave us longing for more. Application: Come to Jesus daily for the spiritual nourishment only He can provide through His Word and prayer. 2. Jesus is the Bread that Came Down from Heaven Scripture: John 6:32-33 – Jesus contrasts Himself with manna, the bread God gave the Israelites in the wilderness. Key Insight: Manna was a temporary provision, but Jesus is eternal. He doesn’t just give life—He is life. Illustration: Share the story of the Israelites relying on manna each day and relate it to the need for daily dependence on Jesus. Application: Stop relying on yesterday’s faith. Seek a fresh encounter with Jesus every day. 3. Jesus Invites Us to Partake of Him Scripture: John 6:51 – “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.” Key Insight: To partake of Jesus means to believe in Him, trust Him, and let His Spirit fill every aspect of our lives. Illustration: Use the Lord’s Supper as an example of remembering and receiving Jesus into our lives. Application: Accept Jesus’ invitation to partake fully in Him by committing your life to Him. This means surrendering all and trusting Him completely. Support the show…
