Only Jesus Can Make America Great Again" 1. Introduction: The Current State of Leadership Many of our leaders today seem to have lost their way, driven by personal ambition, political gain, and worldly ideologies rather than seeking wisdom from God. The nation watches as decisions are made without moral clarity, and the fruits of these choices are evident: division, confusion, and unrest. Do these leaders need to remember? The ultimate authority doesn't rest in the hands of human rulers or governments; it rests with Jesus, the King of Kings. This world is not spinning out of His control, even if it appears so to us. Jesus is Lord, and He alone can bring the peace and justice many seek. Today's cry should not be for more political reform but for a profound spiritual revival. The need for this revival is urgent. America doesn't need another slogan or policy; we need Jesus. It's time to return to the only One who can make America truly great again. 2. Jesus, The King of Kings The Bible declares in Revelation 17:14, "They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings." Jesus is not just a spiritual leader but the ultimate sovereign, reigning over all powers, authorities, and governments. His rule is eternal, and His authority surpasses any earthly ruler's. In stark contrast to the self-serving motives of many leaders, Jesus models a leadership of humility and service. Philippians 2:6-7 says, "Though he was in the form of God...he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant." If those in positions of power followed His example of servant leadership, our nation would experience the kind of righteous leadership that brings true justice and peace. This stark contrast should ignite a longing for such leadership in our hearts. But instead, many leaders today are blinded by pride, greed, and a thirst for power. They forget that their authority is temporary and comes from God alone. It's not human efforts or policies sustaining nations— God's grace and hand over the land. 3. America's Drift from Biblical Values There was a time when America sought to live by biblical principles. The nation was founded on ideals rooted in Christian ethics: freedom, justice, and equality. These values reflected a deep reverence for God's Word. Yet, as time has passed, we've witnessed a troubling shift. The influence of Christian principles in our culture has eroded. This erosion is a grave concern. Moral relativism has replaced absolute truth. The sanctity of life is questioned, marriage is redefined, and the very concept of truth is now subjective. Proverbs 14:34 warns, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people." America's drift from righteousness has led to confusion, division, and a decline in spiritual health. When a nation turns away from God's truth, chaos ensues. The Bible clarifies that no nation can stand firm if it abandons its moral foundation. Unsurprisingly, we see division, injustice, and unrest when our society moves further from the Word of God. 4. The Call to Return to Jesus The solution to America's challenges is not found in politics, policy reforms, or social movements. The root of our problems is spiritual, and the solution is Jesus. God's Word offers a clear answer in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." America desperately needs spiritual healing, and that begins with repentance. It's time to humble ourselves, admit that we cannot fix these problems alone, and turn back to Jesus. The issues that plague our nation—violence, hatred, division, and immorality—are ultimately spiritual strongholds that only Christ can break. As believers, we must be the first to answer this call as witnesses to our communities and leaders. The message of hope and transformation is spread through the body of Christ. We need to pray for revival in America, starting with our hearts and lives. 5. Jesus: The True Source of Freedom and Greatness America often speaks of freedom and greatness, but what is true freedom? John 8:36 says, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." The freedom Jesus offers goes beyond political liberty or personal autonomy. It's freedom from sin, fear, and spiritual death. Only in Christ can people be truly free to live lives of purpose, justice, and peace. History has shown that the most significant transformations come from spiritual awakenings. Times of revival, when people turned back to God, have always resulted in positive cultural and societal change. From the Great Awakenings in the 18th century to the civil rights movements inspired by Christian leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we see how God works through His people to bring justice and renewal. But without Jesus, even the best-intended reforms fall short. Political solutions cannot change the human heart; only Jesus can. Greatness is not defined by power, wealth, or influence—it is determined by our relationship with Christ and our living out of His teachings. 6. A Personal Call to Action It's easy to be discouraged by the state of the world, but as believers, we are called to be salt and light amid darkness. We must first trust Jesus above any political leader or system. Psalm 118:8 reminds us, "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans." We are called to pray for our leaders, even when they fall short. Pray they turn to Jesus for wisdom and guidance and lead with humility and integrity. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 urges us to offer "petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving for all people—for kings and all those in authority." As Christians, we have a responsibility to engage in the political process with love, grace, and a commitment to justice, guided by our faith in Jesus. As the body of Christ, we must also stand firm in our faith, boldly proclaiming that Jesus is the answer. This message is not popular today but is the only one that brings hope and healing. 7. Conclusion: We All Need Jesus Ultimately, no political leader, policy, or party can save America. The faithful Savior is Jesus Christ. If we want to see real change—lasting, meaningful, and eternal—we must return to Him. It's time to stop looking for solutions in the wrong places and acknowledge that while we may have diverse beliefs in America, only Jesus can make America great again. Let us humble ourselves, seek His face, and pray for revival. The future of our nation—and the world—depends on returning to the One who holds all power and authority. May we never forget that the standard is not coming back, but that Jesus Christ is.
