Sara West had a great career in corporate America. She worked in recruiting for a big tech company. She made good money, had good benefits, and had achieved a high level of seniority in her job. But after going through a contentious custody battle with her ex-husband over their three children, Sara decided that she wanted to get into family law so that she could help other single mothers navigate the maddening maze of the family court system. After working and going to law school for four years, she is now an entry level associate at a top law firm. At fifty, she’s basically starting her career all over again. But Sara says despite how challenging it has been, she knows that starting over was right move for her, and that she now brings a high level of life experience and empathy to her job.
