On his 16th birthday, James (Junya) Thompson is knocked over in the street by an earthquake no one else feels, his grandfather declares Junya his sole heir, and Junya is drawn into the mystery surrounding his American and Japanese heritage. It all begins when he sees a Japanese school girl sitting on a bench across the street from his grandfather’s San Francisco mansion.
