Over at least the last 3,000 years civilisations/ Empires have risen and fallen in a cyclical manner. In the case of most of these Empires a combination of ecological disaster, wealth inequality and the breaking of the social contract between the elite and poor doomed them. Could the same issues doom our globalised world?
