How can you find better success on the mats? Zach and Dakota evaluate training tips and tricks on how to improve your submission success. From mentality to intent, Zach lays out a progression of control to apply to your game, the first of which being controlling yourself. If we are wanting to control another person we must first control ourselves, especially our emotions. We can’t expect to submit our opponent if we haven’t first submitted ourselves and have developed a sense of self-control and self-awareness. Everything in Jiu Jitsu is rooted in the stability of your own wellbeing. It starts inside. When that is submitted you will find a lot more success in submitting others. There are plenty more take-aways and lessons to learn from this episode. Embrace your Jiu Jitsu journey and be careful comparing to others. If there was no belt system, would you still train? In Submission of the Week the CC team answers a question asking: was Jesus really divine while on earth or did He lay aside His divinity for a season? Dakota and Zach have a great discussion about this—a must listen! Also, how hard is it to hit an Imanari Roll to Heel Hook? Zach shares his insights on how to properly set one up and what some other options are from that position. Our featured Walk Out Song of the week is from KB’s new album, Libre (feat. Tommy Royale). Book of the Week is Lead so Others can Follow by Jim Bradford. And our Verse of the Week: John 3:20-21.
