「多元臺灣」節目談論臺灣，閩南，南洋等地福佬語族的共同文化記憶，和歷史各自發展所形成的歧異。各地有同有異，有各自的主體認同，形成跨國的福佬語多元文化圈。
譬如語言本身隨著歷史的腳步，在臺灣和各地有不同的變遷；譬如烏龍茶(即半醱酵茶)以福建和臺灣為主要產地，而南洋是包種茶的外銷市場，是這一語族都喜愛的飲料。又譬如布袋戲，歌仔戲，南管，北管等戲曲，各自在海峽兩岸保存與發展。同樣地，閩式建築在華南型氣侯區的城鄉社區，又有其因應風土和美學的各自考量，閩式菜系和台菜之間的傳承和各自的變化…換句話說，福佬語通行的地區，有很多特有的共通話題，和各自的變化，很能引人入勝。
一個島嶼臺灣，也是人間的多元風景。
