At a town hall in Las Vegas on Thursday, Harris expressed support for universal health care.

Florida residents are picking up the pieces in the wake of back-to-back hurricanes. Hurricane Milton made landfall as a major Category 3 storm on Wednesday evening, inundating much of Florida with heavy rain and unleashing a number of deadly tornados, with many areas remaining flooded. At least 14 people are now confirmed dead, and more than 2.4 million customers in Florida remained without power Friday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

Judges in Georgia and Florida have denied requests to extend voter registration deadlines. Advocacy groups had pushed for extensions, citing the impact of the two recent hurricanes. They argued that some residents had to choose between their safety and registering to vote. However, the judges stated they were unaware of any specific cases in which individuals were unable to register due to the storms.
