Headlines all over the internet are screaming out that The Conjuring 3 is based on a true story, and it needs to be said up front that the infamous couple behind The Conjuring series: Ed and Lorraine Warren were hoaxsters, whose primary objective was to publicize themselves, lie to the public and make money off of it. The actual, real, true story was spelled out in a NY Times headline for an article by Dudley Clendinen on March 23, 1981: “DEFENDANT IN A MURDER PUTS THE DEVIL ON TRIAL”.
