Welcome back to the Australian Property Investing Podcast Everything Property with your host David Hamilton. On today's episode, Jordan de Jong a property investor turned proptech GURU joins us to run multiple scenarios on how many properties we might need to retire. For this episode we cover:
- Jordan's investment portfolio
- What he did to avoid getting stuck at only a few properties
- How and why he left a 6 figure paying corporate job
- Properties needed to Retire is broken down into 3 categories, these are:
$350,000 purchase price
Targeting entry level investors, with a $60k cash savings deposit
$500,000 purchase price
Targeting more experienced investors, with a $100k cash savings deposit
$750,000 purchase price
Targeting seasoned investors with high incomes, with a $150k cash savings deposit.
In each scenario Jordan explains the pro's, con's, number of properties needed to get to a passive income of $150k and $350k (inflation adjusted)
We also discuss things like:
- How to integrate a PPR purchase into the portfolio
- When does commercial come into play?
- Should you buy more than you need and sell down?
