Send us a text A self proclaimed truck driver with a guitar whose daughter contracted spinal meningitis at just two weeks old. Kip is a Texas native who was kicked out of school. A performer who enjoys putting smiles on his audience that began due to The Beatles. His first show was in the 6th grade, worked with the likes of Merle Haggard and was the first person to record the track, "Trashy Women." Maybe the only person to receive a speeding ticket on a bicycle who loves to drink! At age 24 his daughter, Jessica was born and contracted a virus that led to spinal meningitis. She was said to be blind by age 9 and not live past 16. Today she is 45 years old! Kip credits The Shriners Hospital as he cares and takes her on the road with him when she is not at her caring facility. Kip plans on traveling and performing until he cannot do it anymore. Send us a text After surviving a major heart attack, Ralph retraces his journey from his childhood in small towns across Missouri to Mount Pleasant, IA. A former high school athlete, he enlisted in the service and later earned a spot in the Northeast Missouri Athletic Hall of Fame due to his outstanding athletic achievements. His sports career eventually led him to become a basketball coach. Despite his passion for coaching, he faced financial constraints and relocated to Illinois. After coaching at Alton HS, he settled in Streator, IL, where he has lived for over 50 years. In college, he met his wife, Charlotte, who had noticed him from afar. Throughout his coaching career, he experienced memorable victories and painful defeats, eventually transitioning to become the executive director of the local YMCA. He played a pivotal role in fundraising efforts to revitalize the YMCA, which now stands as a prominent community hub. As a tribute to his contributions, the pickleball courts were named after him. In retirement, he enjoys winters in Florida, where he spends his days walking along the beach and playing pickleball.
