The Olympics are a time to put aside politics and come together in the name of sports. For two weeks we can defy the odds, advocate for peace, and put a pause on the daily monotony of life.
If you believe this, I hate to burst your bubble, but The Olympics is one of the most politicized and financially straining events in our society and culture. Playing “Imagine,” at every opening ceremony event doesn’t negate this fact. Someone should probably tell the IOC that.
