In this episode of the Futurized podcast, host Trond Arne Undheim interviews Mathieu Johnsson, CEO & founder of Marble, a drone startup specializing in marine drone monitoring.

They discuss the the implications of wanting to monitor the maritime domain, which is vast and complex, covering approximately 70% of the earth’s surface. This is actualized by the desire to protect the ocean by 2030 using the High Seas Treaty (2023). During the discussion, they touch on the size of the drone market now and emerging trends, including the need for drone regulations. They also discuss both the opportunities and limitations of current drone technologies and products, including the proepect of getting real time view of the entire planet just in the next few decades with unmanned surface robot aircraft carriers, drones, and satellites at all altitudes.
