Asia Society Southern California Board Chair and Trustee, Katie Soo, joins the Glowing Up Asian podcast to share her glow up origin story: How her early dreams of becoming a painter and artist eventually led her to become an executive leader at several major Hollywood studios and streaming services, including HBO Max, Warner Brothers, DC Comics and Hulu. In our conversation, we discussed her experience with the “Representation Matters” movement in Hollywood and what it took to advocate for more diverse storytelling. We also dive into her work at Asia Society Southern California where she helped form the Asian Women Empowered (AWE) initiative and explore why early career sponsorship is so critical to improving and increasing representation across all industries.
