We must both be filled with the spirit and led by it. Acts 1 and 2 describe the initial infilling of the spirit, but the bible is clear that being filled with the spirit is more than a one-time event. Those observing the believers in the upper room that day supposed them to be drunk because of how they acted. Like being drunk, being filled with the spirit causes (or should cause) us to act differently. But being filled with the spirit is not enough. We must be led by it. The Bible has many references to God leading his people. To be led, they must be willing to move. This willingness, this openness to God's will, is what sets us on the path of spiritual growth. We moved from following our flesh to following what God wants for us. Our flesh wants pleasure and gratification. Dr. Wilson asks can we be moved? Can we be led by God when dealing with our problems, challenges, and setbacks?
