It’s Earth Day, friend! As someone who’s all about buying less, but better, I’m an advocate for ethical fashion and sustainable shopping. But I definitely don’t consider myself to be an expert. And I’ll be honest, sometimes the thought of searching for more sustainable clothing and accessories feels like more trouble than it’s worth. As women, we face so many pressures already. Do we really need to add eco-conscious shopping to the list?

Well, my incredible guest, Anita Thomas, says yes and no. I’m so excited to introduce you to Anita because she is all about making sustainable shopping more DOABLE. But first, let me tell you a little bit about her background and how I knew she was the perfect guest to bring in for this topic. Anita is an inventor, sustainability advocate, and founder of the luxury fashion brand Lavāda. During the pandemic, she invented a 4-in-1, interchangeable vegan leather handbag that’s changing the way we think about handbags—and giving conscious shoppers who don’t want to compromise on sustainability for luxury—an elegant, yet eco-friendly option.

She’s been using her background as a C-suite executive who drove multi-billion dollar portfolios to build a purpose-driven brand that’s helping to improve sustainability practices in fashion. Because as someone who comes from a long line of stewards of the land, she believes good stewardship is something everyone aspires to achieve. So through Lavāda she’s partnering with others to responsibly increase our impact with the resources we’ve been given.

Today, Anita is going to share 5 super simple tips to ease your way into sustainable shopping. I know you’re going to love her down-to-earth demeanor and approachable ideas. And if you want to start shopping more responsibly without feeling burdened or breaking the bank, I know you’re going to love today’s conversation! Let’s dive in!
