President Woodrow Wilson won his second term on the theme that ‘he kept us out of war.’ So why did the United States get involved in a European war, when we weren’t attacked and we were even making a lot of money by selling materials (to one side)? We will examine the reasons given for fighting ‘over there’, including Wilson’s amazing claim that this war ‘would end all wars!’
