It was Christmas Eve 2008 and the extended Ortega family was having a boisterous Christmas Eve celebration in their family home in Covina California. There were more than 20 family members in attendance, playing cards, eating, some were swimming in the backyard. But in the middle of their holiday celebration, the doorbell rang, and what unfolded next was something out of the most sinister Stephen King story plot. Only this was real. 9 people were murdered in cold blood and the perpetrator, dressed as Santa Claus, would make 10 after authorities zeroed in on his location. Spoiler, it wasn't the North Pole.
