Advent is a time for sharing, but sharing of what exactly? Gifts? Coats? Warm blankets for the needy? Yes, certainly all of those things, but Simeon reminds us that it is also a time to share "salvation, which you prepared in sight of the nations, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel." There is this sacred gift that never tarnishes, never requires batteries, never becomes obsolete, and always, ALWAYS meets the needs of all mankind that you and I are invited to share--Jesus Christ and His salvation!
