A year and a half ago, the Schimberg Group began collaborating with Ece Uyar Aktaş and the Bej Mimarlik team, an architectural design company based in Izmir, Turkey. This effort was not about creating a relationship to collaborate and design projects together.

Ece Uyar Aktaş is the founder of Bej Mimarlik, an architectural company based in Izmir, Turkey. Ece is a 2010 graduate of the Izmir University of Economics with a B.A. degree in architecture. She received her master’s degree in architecture from the Institute of Technology, where she specialized in socio-cultural studies in architecture.
