Chambers Hydrofarm is a pioneer to hydroponic farming in Jamaica, which is a system completely new to many. Chamber’s HydroFarm not only designs, constructs and advises on the operation of hydroponic systems, they also provide employment and capacity-building educates. through established mentorship and internship programs in the community of Swaby’s Hope , located in Mandeville. The youths are taught hydroponic farming theory and techniques as well as the exploration of business opportunities and entrepreneurship. Ricardo touched on some benefits of owning a hydroponic farm, namely: 1. Return on investment (ROI) is very rewarding 2. Spend less on labour 3. Faster growth over traditional farming 4. Hydroponic farming is very versatile 5. Reduction of praedial larceny Ricardo purports that hydroponic farming can be a very lucrative business.
