Blue Light In The Basement

It was the 70's. Saturday night back in NYC. Brooklyn to be exact.
You could always count on someone throwin' a house party. Maybe you didn't get a personal invite but somewhere, somebody had it goin' on. Seek and you would find. The neighborhood buzz would lead you to the place where you greeted by the sounds. You might get lucky and gain entry if you knew somebody that knew somebody partyin' at 'so and so's' house. Me? I had connections to the DJ spinnin the tunes using MY records and those old vintage Garrard belt drive turntables.
Upstairs was red light....party jams, high energy dancin to R&B and disco. But make your way downstairs, to the basement where the lights were blue. Ultimately thats where you wanted be. Thats where you found the slow jams.....
This is an ode to days gone by.....and the blue light.
