Graduada en ciencias computacionales y estadísticas en su natal Panamá, pero especializada en español y literatura en Portland State University en el estado de Oregon, Estados Unidos, Patricia Betancourt dedica por entero su vida a escribir y a enseñar en su lengua materna. Su trabajo va muy de la mano con el sentido de servicio comunitario; es su modelo pedagógico. Es una lectora empedernida. Su amor por el idioma la llevó a crear su propio emprendimiento: Tu alma en el papel - Spanish Tutoring Consulting Services, para ayudar a todas aquellas personas que deseen plasmar sus ideas y tal vez escribir un libro. También es autora del libro Tu alma en el papel: Siete consejos para escribir correctamente en español, el cual se acaba de lanzar de forma digital en Amazon. Es líder de un círculo de lectura llamado Dos mundos, cuyo objetivo es compartir conocimientos, apreciar la literatura española y descubrir talentos que tal vez no han sido explorados.
