Growing up in Gable, South Carolina, a tight-knit community near Florence, Jamal Bethune always had big dreams of becoming either a Professional Football Player or a Personal Injury Attorney. While he excelled on the football field at Newberry College, Jamal ultimately chose to pursue a career in law over sports.
After graduating with honors from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, Jamal returned to Atlanta and began his legal career at a Personal Injury law firm. He was immediately drawn to the challenging and rewarding nature of Personal Injury cases, where he often found himself advocating for clients facing off against powerful insurance companies. To Jamal, representing these clients felt like being David facing Goliath.
It was only a matter of time before Jamal joined the Litner + Deganian team. Already acquainted with Norm and Melissa, and having connected with Steve at a Georgia Trial Lawyers Association event, he quickly hit it off with Arman as well. Jamal was impressed by the team's casual yet dedicated approach to their work, creating a welcoming environment where clients could feel comfortable and understood.
Outside of the office, Jamal maintains his athletic drive by training daily and exploring martial arts. He also delves into weighty subjects like politics, philosophy, and law in his reading, but finds relaxation in cheering on his favorite football teams, the New England Patriots and the Florida Gators (despite Arman's preferences).
