In today’s candid and inspiring episode of the Leading with Heart Podcast, I am chatting with Col Bree Fram. Col Fam’s journey has been one of authenticity and resilience, from coming out as a transgender military member, to overcoming cancer, to becoming an advocate for inclusive leadership within the armed forces.
Bree Fram (she/her) is an author, podcaster, keynote speaker, and active duty colonel and astronautical engineer in the United States Space Force. She came out publicly as transgender on the day the transgender ban in the military was dropped in 2016 and is currently one of the highest ranking out transgender officers in the United States military.
She also co-leads the Department of the Air Force LGBTQ+ Initiatives Team, dedicated to eliminating barriers to LGBTQ+ military service in the Air and Space Force. Bree hosts the Forged in Fire: LGBTQ+ Leadership podcast and her newest book is Forging Queer Leaders: How the LGBTQIA+ Community Creates Impact from Adversity, which releases in May 2024.
Learn how vulnerability and inclusivity can enhance mission success and lead to a more connected and effective team. Col Fram's amazing stories will move you, from the heightened emotions of joining the Space Force to navigating the complexities of individual experiences in the military. This episode isn't just about leading; it's about living truthfully and as your fullest self in every walk of life. Tune in now!
