In the Leftist Teen Drama Season 4 premiere, we dive into two “the personal is political” plotlines on EVERYTHING NOW (2023). In this short-lived British teen drama, we get introduced to two wonderfully different Black teenage girl characters with a gorgeous best friendship. Maria is joined by childhood friends Dondré Taylor-Stewart and Adrienne Bennett to break down both the carefully-depicted, nonlinear recovery journey of anorexic teenager Mia Polanco and a powerful abortion plotline featuring Becca Lloyd. We also break down all the queer politics and all the mess that happens in between.
For this episode, we recommend you first watch EVERYTHING NOW Season 1, streaming on Netflix.
