Creating Better Conversations with Patti DeNucci Part 2
Manage episode 355075940 series 3342754
What is the big deal about having better conversations, connections, and relationships? Pretty much everything! Last episode’s conversation with networking and communications expert, Patti DeNucci, author of More Than Just Talk: The Essential Guide for Anyone Who Wants to Enjoy Better Conversations, was so good that I decided to split it into two parts so we could really take it in and benefit from Patti’s insights and inspiration.
If you haven’t listened to Part 1 yet, I encourage you to do so. In Part 2 of our conversation, we dive deeper into the most common conversation skill and how to get better at it. If you’re an introvert or in any way not comfortable having conversations, you are gonna LOVE this!
In this episode we talk about:
The health benefits of social interactions
A great conversation is a two-way street
Conversational skills are powerful tools to get what you want
The choice to strengthen our conversational skills
Here’s a glance:
[2:18] A little-known yet big benefit of better conversations within social interactions is having a healthier and more vibrant life.
[8:30] A good conversation should be mutually rewarding and beneficial for all parties.
[11:43] In her book, More Than Just Talk: The Essential Guide for Anyone Who Wants to Enjoy Better Conversations, Patti shares tips for how to strengthen our social muscles.
[15:29] How to make the most of online conversations and avoid the dreaded technoference.
[25:27] When chip happens, having better conversational skills is essential to Living Like Your Nail Color.
[29:36] A complimentary rosy-red nail color named Positive Possibilities would be Patti’s hand-fashioned color of choice.
[33:24] In the Flip the Chip segment, Mary highlights Patti’s recommendations for those who aren’t comfortable having social conversations or don’t know what to say.
