The Detroit Tigers defeat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1 in the opening game of a 3 game series at Tropicana Field. Tarik Skubal was outstanding yet again throwing 6 innings of shutout baseball. Mark Canha hit a solo home run in the top of the first to give the Detroit Tigers a 1-0 lead and the Tigers never looked back. Javy Baez had a huge game including a run scored, a tremendous defensive play, and excellent baserunning all game. The Detroit Tigers may have played their best game of the season in all aspects against the Tampa Bay Rays. Game two of the series is set for tomorrow at 6:50 pm eastern time.
