Parker Meadows sealed the game with a game-winning triple in the 11th, scoring Ryan Vilade. Jason Foley earned the win for Detroit, delivering two solid innings of relief, allowing two runs (none earned) while striking out one. The Royals' efforts were highlighted by Paul DeJong's two RBIs and Vinnie Pasquantino's solo home run. Jim Leyland was honored by the Detroit Tigers in a pregame ceremony retiring longtime manager Jim Leyland’s #10 jersey. Jim Leyland won 700 games as a manager for the Detroit Tigers from 2006 to 2013 and led the team to two World Series appearances in 2006 and 2012. Jim Leyland was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame earlier this year as a member of the 2024 class.
